Meet Us
Janna Mock-Lopez – Publisher
Goodness can be found anywhere. Especially after the first cup of morning coffee. Being part of Portland’s giving, eclectic, dynamic, energetic, engaged scene, and being a custodian of wonderful stories, is a joy and honor. Professional inspiration derives from loving this city, all the cool people I meet and the constant belief that our community can do better. Personal inspiration derives from my two kids, Alayna nine, and Evan five, my artist husband Brian who makes amazing sculptures out of recycled materials (brianmock.com) and my ongoing quest for discovering the perfect french fry. Mary Rarick – Managing Editor
In addition to her duties as managing editor of Goodness and Portland Family Magazine, Mary Rarick couldn’t imagine life without her family, her girlfriends, Indian food, iced soy lattes and fabulous shoes. Her community involvement includes representing parents on Century High School’s Site Council and serving the homeless at her local food bank. Follow her blog on Portland Family Magazine and connect with her on Twitter @Mary_Rarick
Karen Kuzmack – Marketing & Events
My blonde hair sun-kissed freckled 9 year old daughter…my ear folding thumb-sucking funny 4 year old son…mojitos (preferbly in Maui)…Jimmy Buffett…pansies…summer BBQ’s…anything with chocolate and carmel together…fall with crisp cool air and richly colored leaves…curry…incredibly soft cashmere to knit with…yarn stores…white peaches…the beach/the coast/the shore depending wherever in the world I am…white chocolate lattes…Baroque classical music…these are a few of my favorite things.
Helen Payne – Operations & Community Care
Goodness to me is a time of reflection, helping one another and positive self growth. Without Goodness where would we be? Remember to take time out of each day to stop and smell the flowers, listen to the birds and strengthen your inner you.
Tay Juncker – Graphic Design
Tay, pronounced Ty (thanks Mom!), is one of the many Oregon transplants who are in love with the Pacific NW. Drawn by the mild weather, the drama of the Cascades, the vibrancy of Portland, and a strong desire for something she couldn’t name, she moved across country ’93.
Settled in north Portland, she has found what she was looking for. She doesn’t believe life would be so sweet anywhere else. Trees, dogs, wine, books, blue state… Portland is Goodness!
Joni Schrantz – Photographer
Aside from my family, photography has become the most important and interesting thing in my life. I feel fortunate to love what I do. I’m passionate about telling stories through pictures and think sometimes one image really can say it all. Since relocating to Portland in 2008, I have truly fallen in love with the city and the people in it. Goodness has provided me the opportunity of meeting and photographing some of Portland’s best. Other things I love include my husband, my pets, iced coffee, snowboarding, volkswagens, campfires and good pale ales. www.jonischrantz.com.
